Acronyms, tools, and shop-floor vocabulary used across the Flatland Roofing & Insulation SOP manual. Every term that appears with a dotted underline in another SOP links here.

- AC — Air Conditioning
- Cooling equipment, including condenser units that may need protection during exterior work.
B
- BBB — Better Business Bureau
- Independent business reputation organization. Flatland is BBB-rated.
- Baffle
- A vent channel installed in the attic to keep airflow open from soffit to ridge after blown-in insulation is added.
C
- CO2 — Carbon Dioxide
- Combustion-byproduct gas that detectors monitor in homes with gas appliances. Confirm a CO2 detector is present and functioning before closing every install.
- CompanyCam
- Photo documentation app used for jobsite photos, checklists, and report generation. Synced with ProLine.
- CRM — Customer Relationship Management
- The system of record for leads, contacts, projects, and project stages. At Flatland, the CRM is ProLine.
- Contingency Agreement
- Homeowner-signed agreement allowing Flatland to act on the homeowner's behalf with their insurance carrier. Must be signed before emergency tarping or claim filing.

- EagleView
- Aerial-imagery and measurement service. Used for accurate roof measurements before estimating.
- ETA — Estimated Time of Arrival
- Used for material delivery and crew arrival logistics on install day.

- FB — Facebook
- Social platform used for organic community engagement and paid lead generation.

- Hail Recon
- Storm-history search tool used to verify damage timing for insurance claims.
- HO — Homeowner
- Shorthand used in field SOPs.
- HVAC — Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning
- The mechanical equipment in a home; relevant to attic access and to spray-foam conversion safety (sealed combustion check).

- Improvifi
- Financing platform used for sales presentations.
- ITEL
- Industry-standard shingle-matching service. Used to determine whether a discontinued shingle has an acceptable match.

- KPI — Key Performance Indicator
- A measurable metric tracked weekly/monthly to evaluate sales-rep performance.
N
- NTS — Neutral Third-Party Shingle Match Report
- An unbiased shingle-availability and match report used alongside ITEL when arguing for full replacement.
O
- OSHA — Occupational Safety and Health Administration
- U.S. federal agency setting workplace safety standards. Flatland follows OSHA fall-protection and storm-work safety protocols.
P
- PDF — Portable Document Format
- Standard document format used for CompanyCam reports and customer deliverables.
- PPE — Personal Protective Equipment
- Safety gear: gloves, eye protection, hard hat, fall protection, respirators for spray foam, etc.
- ProLine
- Flatland's CRM. Holds contacts, projects, quotes, payments, and the project-stage workflow used across sales, production, and office.
R
- R-value
- Thermal-resistance rating for insulation. Higher R-value = more insulating effect. Used to size attic insulation upgrades.
- ROI — Return on Investment
- Sales framing for the long-term value of an upgrade (lower energy use, longer roof life).
- Roofle / Roof Quote Pro
- Online quoting tool used for instant roof-replacement estimates.
- RSRA — Roofing & Solar Reform Alliance
- External training program required for new-hire sales reps.

- S.L.A.P. Formula
- Adam Bensman's door-knock framework: Say Hi · Let them know why you're here · Ask an open-ended question · Present your pitch.
- SEO — Search Engine Optimization
- Organic web visibility — one of Flatland's lead sources.
- SOP — Standard Operating Procedure
- A documented procedure that defines a consistent way to perform a recurring activity.
- Supplement
- An additional claim line item submitted to an insurance carrier when the original scope missed required work.
T
- TotalScope
- Claims and supplement-management software used to package and submit insurance claims.
- Tyvek
- House-wrap product. Not an approved substrate for spray foam; must be removed before applying foam.
- Typar
- Alternative house wrap recommended when wrap is required for a spray-foam application.
V
- VA — Virtual Assistant
- Remote team member who handles inbox triage, lead follow-up calls, and other repeatable tasks. At Flatland, the VA is Rhowel.
